Austin Bessette Wins New England Racing Fuel Support Performer Of The Week Award

NE Racing Fuel Support Performer Award

Maybe Austin Bessette was more deserving because the reality was, he unofficially won two races Friday night.

Bessette not only ran away with victory in Friday’s Limited Late Model feature at Stafford Motor Speedway, but he also won the race to get to the track on time.

Bessette, of Stafford, graduated from Cheney Tech in Manchester on Friday and attended his graduation ceremonies in Manchester before getting to the track just in time to roll out of for the Limited Late Model feature.

And in the same way that he ran away with victory on the track, Bessette ran away with it off the track in this week’s voting for the New England Racing Fuels Support Performer of the Week Award.

Bessette garnered 27 percent of the votes for this week award. Bill McNeill was second, getting 19 percent of the votes for his Street Stock victory at the Waterford Speedbowl.

Each week during the 2014 racing season the New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Support Performer of the Week will be chosen from among drivers competing in events in one of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly support divisions (excludes SK Modified divisions) at Stafford Motor Speedway, Thompson Speedway and the Waterford Speedbowl.

Bessette will receive a $20 certificate for race fuel from New England Racing Fuel. The final voting results are listed below.
