Bobby Santos III Leads The Way In Whelen Modified Tour Practice At Waterford

WATERFORD – It was a family feud of sorts at the top of the practice charts in preparation for tonight’s NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Mr. Rooter 161 at the Waterford Speedbowl.

Bobby Santos III of Franklin, Mass. put up the fastest lap of practice Saturday with a fast time of 13.950 seconds (96.774) around the one-third mile shoreline oval.

Nipping at his heels was his soon to be brother-in-law Woody Pitkat of Stafford, who had a fast lap of 13.971 seconds (96.629 mph).

Donny Lia of Jericho, N.Y. was third fastest during the 75-minute practice session at 13.991 seconds (96.491 mph).

Justin Bonsignore of Holtsville, N.Y., who comes into the event second in the series standings, was fourth in practice at 14.010 seconds (96.360 mph).

Fifth during the practice was former Waterford Speedbowl regular Ron Yuhas Jr. of Groton (14.013 seconds, 96.339 mph).
