Last week, After four consecutive weeks of events cancelled or stopped by rain, Stafford Motor Speedway blasted back into action with the running of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour TSI Harley-Davidson 125.
This week the track holds their official Summer Blastoff night, with extra distance events for the both the Limited Late Model and DARE Stock divisions, and fireworks to top the night off.
The Waterford Speedbowl rolls back into action with an extra distance event for its premier NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified division.

Events at the track were rained out on May 9, May 16 and May 30 and the May 23 racing card was stopped by rain three features into the night. … Ryan Preece goes looking for his fourth consecutive victory to start the season in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified division Friday. After three races, Preece – the 2011 SK Modified champion at Stafford – holds a 28-point lead over second place Ted Christopher in the division’s standings. Keith Rocco is 30 points behind Preece in third and Joey Cipriano 38 points behind in fourth. …. Preece is currently third in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series national short track standings. … Tom Fearn got his first victory of the season in last week’s Late Model division feature. … Jay Stuart and Adam Gray are the other winners in the division this year. … Stuart holds a 22-point lead over Gray and Cory Casagrande, who are tied for second in the standings. Fearn is fourth, 24 points behind Stuart. … Joey Ferrigno picked up his victory in just under a year in the SK Light Modified division last week. … The top four in standings in the division are separated by 10 points. Bob Charland holds a two-point advantage over second place Jeremy Sorel. More: The 10th event of the season at the shoreline oval. … Last week, Keith Rocco won the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified feature. It was the fourth victory of the season for the division’s reigning champion. … In nine SK Modified division starts this year at Waterford, Rocco has four victories, four second place finishes and one third place finish. … Other winners this year include, Ed Puleo, Tyler Chadwick, Joey Gada, Kyle James and Craig Lutz. … Rocco has built a massive lead over the field in the standings, holding a 91-point advantage over second place Lutz. Puleo is third in the standings, 113 points behind the lead and Ted Christopher fourth, 120 points off the top spot. … Jason Palmer has won the last two Late Model division events at Waterford. … After winning the first five events of the season in the Late Model division, Rocco has been shut out of victory lane for the last four weeks. Bruce Thomas Jr. and Vin Esposito are the other Late Model division winners this year. … Rocco holds a 40-point lead over Thomas in the standings.
