Stafford Motor Speedway hosts its fourth annual Champions for Charities night Friday at Stafford Motor Speedway.

The night features a 15-lap go-kart event pitting 10 former champions on the track.

The Waterford Speedbowl returns to action Saturday with a seven-division NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing card.

Participating this year are drivers David Arute, Ron Midford Jr., Rich Pallai Jr., Woody Pitkat, Ryan Preece, Randy Cabral, Ron Silk, Doug Coby, Rowan Pennink and Ted Christopher. … Last week, 16-year old SK Modified division rookie Chase Dowling became the youngest driver to win in the division’s history at Stafford. … Dowling’s victory snapped the perfect streak of Ryan Preece, who had won the season’s first three events. Preece holds a 24 point lead over second place Ted Christopher in the SK Modified division standings. More: The 12th event of the season at the shoreline oval. … Last week, Ed Puleo held off Keith Rocco to pick up his second victory of the season in the SK Modified division at Waterford. … In 11 SK Modified features this year at Waterford Rocco has five victories, five seconds and a third place finish. … Other winners this year include Tyler Chadwick, Joey Gada, Kyle James and Craig Lutz. … Rocco has built a massive lead over the field in the standings, holding a 102-point advantage over second place Lutz.
