It looks like the race director will go back to being just the racer on July 5 at Waterford Speedbowl.

The Waterford Speedbowl celebrates its special Mid-Season 300 night on July 5 and the combination of RH2Way Racing and Horsepower Hill Racing plan to put a special lineup in the field for the 25-lap SK Light Modified feature.

Team owner Gino Difilippo Jr. said he has asked former Speedbowl star and current Stafford Motor Speedway director of racing operations and competition Tom Fox to run a third car in the RH2Way/Horsepower Hill lineup.

“Tentatively, that’s the plan,” Fox said. “… I am excited. It’s good for me. Kind of a homecoming.”

Fox said he will test the car for the team on July 3 to make sure all is set for competition.

Fox would join former Speedbowl SK Light Modified division champion Paul French and Stafford Motor Speedway SK Light Modified division regular Joey Ferrigno in the team’s stable at Waterford for the evening.

“RH2Way, in a strategic partnership with Horsepower Hill Racing, was looking for a veteran driver that knows his way around the Speedbowl and we’re excited to connect with Tom,” Difilippo said. “He raced before I started going to the Speedbowl, but I’ve heard all the stories about how great he ran there. I’m very excited to have him driving.”
