During the 2014 racing season, who ever cleans up on the racetrack locally each month will be making sure they stay clean after that thanks to Monk Mechanics Hand Cleaners.

RaceDayCT has introduced the Monk Mechanics Hand Cleaners RaceDayCT “Cleaned Up Award” for the 2014 season.

At the end of each calendar month during the racing season nominees will be chosen based on their successes on the track during that month.

Those nominees will be chosen from among regular competitors at Stafford Motor Speedway, Thompson Speedway, the Waterford Speedbowl and any of the touring divisions that visit those tracks. The winner of the award will then be decided through a vote on RaceDayCT.com.

The winner of the award each month will earn a case of Monk Mechanics Hand Cleaners courtesy of Monk. Voting will take place through Friday at noon. After voting, click one of the Social Media icons in the upper left hand corner of the voting box to share the poll with others.

The nominees for June are:

  • Mike Christopher Jr. – In six Legends divisions starts in June at Waterford, Christopher had five victories and a second place finishes. Also had a second place in a his lone Legends start at Stafford in June.
  • Ted Christopher – Finished second in the Valenti Modified Racing Series event at Stafford on June 20. In three Whelen Modified Tour events in June he had an eighth place finish at Stafford on June 6, a third place at Waterford on June 21 and second place at Riverhead (N.Y.) Raceway on June 28. Won in his SK Modified at Stafford on June 27 and had consecutive third place SK Modified finishes at Waterford June 14 and June 21.
  • Bobby Santos III – Finished third in the Whelen Modified Tour event at Stafford on June 6 and then won in the division’s next event at the Waterford Speedbowl on June 21.
  • Doug Coby – Won his first Whelen Modified Tour event of the season on June 6 at Stafford and had a sixth place finish in the Modified Tour event at Riverhead on June 28 to take over the series points lead.
  • Keith Rocco – Had four victories and a second place in SK Modified features during the month of June at the Waterford Speedbowl. Also had a victory and two third place finishes in four Late Model division starts at Waterford. Had a third place in the Valenti Modified Racing Series event on June 20 at Stafford.

    Shawn…great to be able to read what is going on back where real racing is going on. Though I’m staying warm and seeing some racing it is nothing of the calibre of New England. Keep up the great work!
