Bobby Santos III Leads The Way In First Whelen Modified Tour Practice At New Hampshire Motor Speedway

LOUDON, N.H. – The chase to get to the top of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour point standings started well for the weekend for Bobby Santos III Friday morning at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Santos, of Franklin, Mass., led the way in the first Whelen Modified Tour practice Friday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Santos, who goes into Saturday’s Whelen Modified Tour Sunoco 100 seven points behind series leader Doug Coby of Milford, toured the 1.058-mile oval in Loudon with a fast lap of 29.086 seconds (130.950 mph).

Qualifying for Saturday’s event will take place Saturday morning at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Santos has won two of five events this year on the Whelen Modified Tour.

Andy Seuss of Hampstead, N.H., a regular on the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour, was second in practice at 29.092 seconds (130.923 mph).

Woody Pitkat of Stafford was third with a fast lap of 29.097 seconds (130.900 mph).

Coby, the defending champion of the Sunoco 100, was eighth fastest of the 31 cars that were on track for the one-hour practice session.
