Friday at Stafford Motor Speedway the focus was on the inaugural running of the NAPA Auto Parts SK 5K, but well before big SK Modified event hit the track, the celebration was steaming in victory lane for DARE Stock driver Frank L’Etoile Jr.
L’Etoile celebrated his first victory of the season Friday and that win drove him to winning this week’s New England Racing Fuel Support Performer of the Week award.
L’Etoile, of Wethersfield, got 108 of the 346 votes (31 percent) cast this week for the award. Al Stone III, winner in the Street Stock feature Saturday at Waterford garnered the second most votes with 86 (25 percent).
Each week during the 2014 racing season the New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Support Performer of the Week will be chosen from among drivers competing in events in one of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly support divisions (excludes SK Modified divisions) at Stafford Motor Speedway, Thompson Speedway and the Waterford Speedbowl.
L’Etoile will receive a $20 certificate for race fuel from New England Racing Fuel. The final voting results are listed below.
