Garrett Denton Wins New England Racing Fuel Support Performer Of The Week Award

He’s got this thing down.

When it comes to competition for the New England Racing Fuel Support Performer of the Week Award, there’s no messing with Garrett Denton.

Two times this year the Hope Valley, R.I. Hope Valley, R.I. driver has been nominated for the award and two times this year he has taken it home.

Though this time it was by the slimmest of margins.

Denton, who won Saturday’s Mini Stock feature at the Waterford Speedbowl, edged Stafford Motor Speedway Late Model division driver JJ Hill by five votes this week for the award. Hill got his first win of the season in last Friday’s Late Model feature at Stafford.

Denton earned 100 of the 300 votes cast this week. Hill got 95 votes.

Each week during the 2014 racing season the New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Support Performer of the Week will be chosen from among drivers competing in events in one of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly support divisions (excludes SK Modified divisions) at Stafford Motor Speedway, Thompson Speedway and the Waterford Speedbowl.

Denton will receive a $20 certificate for race fuel from New England Racing Fuel. The final voting results are listed below.
