Joey Ferrigno Wins New England Racing Fuel Support Performer Of The Week Award

NE Racing Fuel Support Performer Award

It was clear to anyone sitting in the grandstands Friday evening at Stafford Motor Speedway that one of the most popular winners of the evening came from the track’s SK Light Modified division.

A week after having his car give up while leading with less than two laps remaining, Joey Ferrigno got back the one that got away Friday night at Stafford Speedway, to the delight of many in the grandstands.

And Ferrigno being a fan favorite was made even clearer this week as he captured a second New England Racing Fuel Support Performer of the Week Award in 2014 with another big vote total.

Ferrigno, of East Hartford, captured 176 of the 399 votes submitted this week, to earn 44 percent of the votes between the eight drivers nominated. Trace Beyer, a first-time winner in the DARE Stock division Friday at Stafford was a distant second in the voting with 23 percent.

Each week during the 2014 racing season the New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Support Performer of the Week will be chosen from among drivers competing in events in one of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly support divisions (excludes SK Modified divisions) at Stafford Motor Speedway, Thompson Speedway and the Waterford Speedbowl.

Ferrigno will receive a $20 certificate for race fuel from New England Racing Fuel. The final voting results are listed below.
