WATERFORD – After winning the Late Model feature on July 19 at the Waterford Speedbowl Keith Rocco lamented making changes the week before that he felt cost him a victory.
Saturday night Rocco celebrated being happy with a good car and not screwing up what was already good.
Rocco’s victory July 19 snapped a three-race winless streak in the Late Model division at the Waterford for Rocco and Saturday he started yet another winning streak in the division.
Rocco rolled easily to victory in the 30-lap Late Model feature Saturday at the Waterford Speedbowl.
“The car was real good,” Rocco said. “We worked real hard on keeping it in the trailer this week and it seemed to work out for us.”
Vin Esposito of Waterbury was second. Chris Garside of Waterford recorded his first career podium finish in third.
It was the eighth victory in 15 events in the Late Model division this season at Waterford for Rocco. He opened the season with a five-race winning streak.
Rocco went by Garside for the lead with 27 laps remaining and was never challenged again at the front of the field.
