WATERFORD – The most dominating force in the Street Stock division at the Waterford Speedbowl showed exactly how dominating he can be Saturday.

Galvin led every circuit on the way to victory in the 50-lap Street Stock feature Saturday at the Waterford Speedbowl.

It was the seventh victory of the season for Galvin, of Franklin.

“That’s by far the most wins I’ve ever had,” Galvin said. “It’s the result of a lot of work. A lot of effort from a lot of people. I’m thankful for everyone that has helped me get this car to where it is now.”

Al Stone III was second and Corey Coates of Ledyard third.

Galvin started second and went by Stone for the lead on the first lap.

“It feels good,” Galvin said. “It’s always easy to get it from up front. There’s only one way to go when you start up front and that’s backwards. You’ve got to stay there. It was tough. Everybody is getting faster.”

Stone had his best chance to grab the lead away with two laps left when he got under Galvin, but couldn’t make the decisive pass to go to the front. The two made contact coming off turn one and Galvin got slightly sideways before wrangling his car back in.

“I figured I had one more shot at and I gave it a shot,” Stone said. “I wasn’t going to wreck Josh to pull it off because it wouldn’t have ended up well for either one of us. It’s not how I want to win them. He won it and he deserved it.”

Said Galvin: “There was an opening there. He did what he had to do, he took a shot at it. Right at the point where I was about to lose it he backed it out of it. He’s not going to wreck you, he wants to race you. There’s a lot of other people that would have finished me off right there. It’s good to have him racing up front with us.”
