STAFFORD – After winning on July 18 at Stafford, Late Model driver Jay Stuart lamented changing his setup the week before and costing himself victory.

Stuart clearly learned his lesson about changing what was working. When it’s going good, it’s going good and the reality is, it’s been going good all year for the Preston driver.

Stuart continued his scorching run of 2014 by winning the 30-lap Late Model feature Friday at Stafford Motor Speedway.

Tom Fearn of East Longmeadow, Mass. was second and Cory Casagrande of Stafford third.

Stuart passed Fearn for the lead on lap 21 and went unchallenged at the front after that on the way to his second consecutive victory.

“My car was good again this week,” Stuart said. “There were some fast runners up there. We had to deal with Tom Fearn and try to get by him. I’ve got to thank the track. What a great track they give us to run on, all year. It’s sticky, it’s always clean, it’s wonderful.”

It was the third victory in eight events this season for Stuart, of Preston, who has been the picture of consistency all year at Stafford.

Stuart, the division’s points leader, has been on the podium in sevent events this year. In the only feature he didn’t finish in the top-three he was fourth. He now has three wins, two seconds, two thirds and the fourth.
