STAFFORD – Three events probably only felt like an eternity to Ryan Preece.

Ryan Preece shook off the doldrums of a three race winless streak at Stafford Motor Speedway by running away with victory in the 40-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified feature Friday.

It was the fifth victory in 10 SK Modified events at Stafford Preece, who won four of the first six events of the season, but had not won since July 11.

Joey Cipriano of Waterbury was second and Todd Owen of Somers third.

Cipriano went by Owen to take the lead on lap six. On lap 13 Preece went by Woody Pitkat and Tom Bolles to move from fourth to second.

Preece went under Cipriano for the lead off turn two on lap 14 and then left the field deep in his wake the rest of the way.
