Saturday Randy Churchill Jr. had all he could do to hold off Glenn Griswold in the closing laps of of the SK Light Modified feature at the Waterford Speedbowl.
This week Churchill scored another victory in a close battle.
Churchill, of Oakdale, edged Stafford Motor Speedway Late Model driver Michael Bennett of Stafford to win this week’s New England Racing Fuel Support Performer of the Week Award.
It was the second time this season that Churchill has won the award.
Churchill finished with 73 of 304 votes cast in the polling (24 percent). Bennett garnered 67 votes (22 percent).
Each week during the 2014 racing season the New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Support Performer of the Week will be chosen from among drivers competing in events in one of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly support divisions (excludes SK Modified divisions) at Stafford Motor Speedway, Thompson Speedway and the Waterford Speedbowl.
Churchill will receive a $20 certificate for race fuel from New England Racing Fuel. The final voting results are listed below.
