THOMPSON – Larry Gelinas went to the lead and then went unchallenged.

Gelinas ran away with victory in the 25-lap Late Model feature Thursday at Thompson Speedway.

It was the first victory of the season for the Buxton, Me. driver.

Rick Gentes of Woonsocket, R.I. was second and Jeff Smith of Old Lyme third.

Gelinas inherited the on lap seven after Nick Ladyga was penalized for spinning Chris Curtis in a battle for the top spot.

After getting the lead Gelinas sailed away from the field.

Corey Hutchings of Salem won the 20-lap Limited Sportsman feature. Shawn Monahan of Waterford was second and Scott Sundeen of Sutton, Mass. third.

In the 15-lap Mini Stock feature it was Eric Bourgeois of East Haddam scoring the victory.

Dave Trudeau of Mansfield was second and Joe Baxter of Pascoag, R.I. third.
