LOUDON – History was made when the checkered flag fell on the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Saturday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Cole Custer rode to a dominating finish in the Camping World Truck Series UNOH 175 Saturday in Loudon, in the process – at 16 years, 7 months and 28 days old – becoming the youngest driver ever to win in one of NASCAR’s three national divisions.

Custer was making his seventh career start in the division.

Custer led the first 144 of the first 147 laps, but found himself in seventh after pitting on lap 148. But Custer was able to power back through the field and take the lead for good from Matt Crafton on lap 172.

“I was really worried [restarting in sevent],” Custer said. “It was so hard to pass, even [lapped cars]. I couldn’t believe we got through all those guys. I can’t believe it. We had some great restarts, which helped us a lot.”

Darrell Wallace Jr. was second and Crafton third.

Wayne Helliwell of Dover, N.H. scored the victory in the ACT Invitational. The scheduled 50-lap event was stopped after 44 laps because of darkness.

Patrick Laperle of St. Denis, Quebec was second and Eddie MacDonald of Rowley, Mass. third.
