Joey Ferrigno is proving in 2014 that if there’s race fuel up for grabs, he’s taking it home.
For the fifth time in five attempts this season, Ferrigno has won in runaway fashion in voting for the New England Racing Fuel Support Performer of the Week Award.
Ferrigno rolled to his fourth SK Light Modified victory in the last seven events at Stafford Motor Speedway, and fifth victory overall this year, Friday.
And then the rout was on once again in voting as Ferrigno captured 45 percent of the 347 votes cast (155 votes).
Josh Wood, a winner in the Late Model division at Stafford Friday, was Ferrigno’s closest competitor in the voting, capturing 88 votes (25 percent).
Each week during the 2014 racing season the New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Support Performer of the Week will be chosen from among drivers competing in events in one of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly support divisions (excludes SK Modified divisions) at Stafford Motor Speedway, Thompson Speedway and the Waterford Speedbowl.
Ferrigno will receive a $20 certificate for race fuel from New England Racing Fuel. The final voting results are listed below.
