From Connecticut to New Hampshire there’s a little bit of something for all local racing fans this weekend.

New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon roars back to life for Sprint Cup Series Sylvania 300 weekend in the Granite State.

But in Connecticut the championship chases roll on at both Stafford Motor Speedway and the Waterford Speedbowl.

Stafford hosts a six division schedule Friday.

After two consecutive weeks of rainouts, the Waterford Speedbowl rolls back into action with a six-division schedule that includes a 50-lap national qualifying event for the Legends division.

What: NASCAR Whelen All-American Series event.

Where: Stafford Motor Speedway

When: Friday

Schedule: 40-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified, 30-lap Late Model, 20-lap SK Light Modified, 20-lap Limited Late Model, 15-lap DARE Stock and 20-lap Legends. Grandstands open: 5:15 p.m.; Qualifying: 6:15 p.m.; Features: Immediately following qualifying events.

More: The 17th event of the season at Stafford Motor Speedway. … Last week, Keith Rocco won for the second time this season at the track in the SK Modified division. Rocco snapped Rowan Pennink’s three-race winning streak in the division. … Ryan Preece has won five of the 15 SK Modified features at the track this year. … Other winners this year include Pennink (five wins), Ted Christopher and rookies Chase Dowling and Ronnie Williams. … With two races remaining, eight-time Stafford SK Modified division champion Ted Christopher leads Ryan Preece by 10 points in the division’s standings. Woody Pitkat is third in the standings, 40 points off the lead. … Christopher has seven top-fives and is the only driver to finish in the top-10 in every event this year … Reigning division champion Adam Gray won for the fifth time this season in the Late Model division last week. … Other winners this year include Jay Stuart (three), Michael Bennett (twice), Jim Peterson (twice), JJ Hill, Josh Wood and Tom Fearn. … Gray, the reigning Late Model champion, takes a 50-point lead over Jim Peterson into this week’s event. Schedule: 35-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified, 30-lap Late Model. 25-lap Street Stock, 25-lap Mini Stock, 25-lap SK Light Modified and 50-lap Legends. Grandstands open: 3 p.m.; Qualifying: 5:15 p.m.; Features: Approximately 7 p.m.

More: The 21st event of the season at the shoreline oval. … Last week, racing at the the Speedbowl was rained out for the second consecutive week. … In the last event at the track, on Aug. 30, Tyler Chadwick inherited the lead with 31 laps remaining and won his first Budweiser SK Modified Nationals 150 at Waterford. …. Keith Rocco has won 10 of the 20 SK Modified events at Waterford this year. … Other SK Modified division winners this year include Chadwick (two), Ed Puleo (twice), Kyle James (twice), Rob Janovic Jr., Joey Gada, Jeffrey Gallup and Craig Lutz. … Rocco has a 227-point advantage over second place Lutz in the SK Modified division standings at Waterford. Puleo is third in the standings, 248 points off the lead. With only four events remaining this season Rocco has unofficially clinched the 2014 SK Modified division championship. … Rocco won for the 11th time this season in the Aug. 30 Late Model feature. … Other Late Model division winners this year include Bruce Thomas Jr. (three), Vin Esposito (two) and Jason Palmer (two).
