Stafford Notes: Devin O’Connell Wins In First Legends Race; Adam Gray Wins Fifth In Late Models

SMS-LOGO-HOME-PAGE-2012STAFFORD – Devin O’Connell made his first Legends division appearance at Stafford Motor Speedway one to remember on Friday.

O’Connell, of Madison, won the 20-lap Legends feature in his division debut.

“This is unbelievable,” O’Connell said. “I’ve been racing Go-Karts here since I was nine years old. The fact that I can win here in a Legends car on a Friday night is unbelievable. … This is incredible.”

Jordan LaMothe of Woodstock was second and Cory DiMatteo of Farmington third.

Adam Gray of Belchertown, Mass. won the 30-lap Late Model feature. Jim Peterson of Monson, Mass. was second and Kevin Gambacorta of Ellington third.

In the 15-lap DARE Stock feature, Dan Dembek of Hampden, Mass. drove away from the field on a late restart and scored his first career victory.

“It feels great to finally get a win,” Dembek said. “We’ve had a lot of problems with this car. It’s great to put it in victory lane tonight.”

Johnny Walker of Ludlow, Mass. was second and Trace Beyer of Brewster, N.Y. third.

Justin Bren of Palmer, Mass. won the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature. Albert Saunders of Stafford was second and Glenn Bartkowski of Manchester third.
