It’s time for the Big One.

The Sunoco World Series of Speedway Racing takes over at Thompson Speedway this weekend.

Three days of action with 14 feature events scheduled and the crowning of the 2014 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion on Sunday.

Friday: Practice and qualifying for select divisions.
Saturday: Whelen Modified Tour qualifying, 75-lap Valenti Modified Racing Series, 20-lap Northeast Mini Stock Tour, 25-lap Late Model, 20-lap Limited Sportsman, 20-lap Mini Stock, 22-lap Pro Four Modified, 20-lap New England Truck Series, 20-lap Outlaw Street Stock and 20-lap Outlaw Sportsman.
Sunday: 150-lap Whelen Modified Tour, 50-lap Granite State Pro Stock Series, 50-lap International SuperModified Association, 25-lap Northeastern Midget Association and 30-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified.

Justin Bonisgnore won at the track in the division’s season opening event in April and also in the second event in August. … Doug Coby takes a 28-point lead over second place Ted Christopher into the season finale. Christopher is the only driver with a chance to pass Coby in the standings. … Coby is looking for second series title. He won his first in 2012. Christopher won his only series title in 2008. … The Valenti Modified Racing Series will host its 17th and final event of the season on Saturday at Thompson. Points leader Justin Bonsignore looks to clinch his first series title. … In the last event at Thompson on Sept. 4, Keith Rocco swept twin SK Modified division features. … Rocco has won four of the eight SK Modified features this year at Thompson. Ryan Preece has three victories and Kerry Malone one win. … Preece takes a 10-point advantage of Rocco into the final event of the season. Todd Ceravolo is third in the division’s standings, 26 points behind Preece. … Rick Gentes won in the last Late Model event at the track. … Glenn Boss has two victories in this year in the division. Larry Gelinas, Jeff Smith and Keith Rocco are the other winners in the division this year. … Gentes leads Boss by 14 going into the final event of the season.
