THOMPSON – Mother Nature did all she could to spoil the festivities Saturday morning, afternoon and evening at Thompson Speedway, but in the end racing won out with features aplenty for loyal fans Saturday night at the track.
Toby Wells of Dublin, N.H. won the 20-lap Northeast Mini Stock Tour. The victory clinched the Thirty Racewear Triple Crown title for Wells, who won all three events this year for the series at Connecticut short tracks.
Glen Thomas Jr. of Groton was second.
Phil Lausier won the 22-lap Pro Four Modified feature.
Wayne Coury Jr. of Milford was victorious in 15-lap Outlaw Sportsman feature. Paul Newcomb Jr. of Plymouth, Mass. was second and Cory Casagrande of Stafford third.
Nick Anderson of Wauregan topped the field in the 15-lap Mini Stock feature. Ed Field of Deep River was second and Dave Trudeau of Mansfield third.
Because of curfew issues, the Late Model, Limited Sportsman and New England Truck Series features originally scheduled for Saturday were moved to Sunday.
How about some news on the 07 driver anyone got any.
Dave,
We can’t report information we don’t have. The track has not reported any information and series officials are not sharing information. In these days of privacy laws you have to respect when people do not want information released. All I can say is that I was told he was awake and alert throughout his removal from the car. I was told that the length of time for removal had much to do with the damage to the car and how it came to rest against the wall.
