OTB Promotions Teams Up With Al Lane’s The Racing School For Stock Car Road Race Challenge

(Press Release from OTB Promotions)

OTB Promotions LogoOTB Promotions team have announced a partnership with Al Lane’s The Racing School (ALTRS), to provide coaching and road racing guidance, as part of the inaugural Stock Car Road Race Challenge (SCRRC), set to be held at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park this September.

“We are excited to offer this program to the teams participating in this historic event. We met with Josh and Lou and came up with some competitive pricing, and unique driving experiences that will not only provide coaching, but allow individuals to race as part of the Stock Car Road Race Challenge. We look forward to working with everyone to make this a successful event,” declared Rick Nelson, ALTRS General Manager.

ALTRS has been a mainstay on Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park’s (TSMP) oval for many seasons. With the renovation of the road course in 2014, ALTRS expanded their program to include road racing education on the 1.7-mile road track. The school is now offering to share their expertise with drivers in the North East Mini Stock Tour, North East Street Stock Tour, Mr. Rooter New England Trick Series, and Thompson-legal Mini Stocks, as part of their coaching offering for SCRRC participants. On Saturday, April 25 and Saturday, May 9, ALTRS will offer a per-round price of $25.00 or $150.00 for one-on-one coaching for the entire test session to drivers.

In addition, ALTRS is going to be a significant part of the SCRRC challenge weekend in September, once again offering driver education, but expanding to include two other road course opportunities on Friday. For those not racing in the event, but wishing to get behind the wheel, ALTRS is offering special pricing for both hands-on and classroom coaching behind the wheel of one of their Mazda Miatas. In addition, a former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series car is going to be on hand to provide individuals with an opportunity to ride along with a seasoned driver on the 11-turn road course. A full menu of experiences is available on the SCRRC webpage, under the When tab on www.otbpromos.net.

On Saturday, ALTRS will be offering the unique opportunity to enter in an eight (8) lap race, featuring their Miatas. This one-of-a-kind event will give entrants the opportunity to take on the technical challenges of TSMP’s road course as part of the historic race weekend. The cost to rent the car is for the Saturday race is $1,300 and includes the morning practice.

Anyone interested in any of the experiences should contact Rick Nelson via email, [email protected], or mobile, (860) 608-8638. For more information on Al Lane’s “The Racing School”, visit their website, www.theracingschool.com.

“We are glad to form this partnership with ALTRS for our Stock Car Road Race Challenge. Rick’s team will be providing some great educational opportunities for race teams, but what we are really excited about is how enthusiasts, who may not be racers, will have the opportunity to get out on Thompson’s newly-renovated road course. This truly is a unique opportunity, and one that OTB is proud to offer,” described OTB’s Executive Vice President, Josh Vanada.

The Stock Car Road Race Challenge is the first race for stock cars on Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park’s 1.7-mile road course. In addition to ALTRS, the event will also feature the North East Mini Stock Tour, North East Street Stock Tour, Mr. Rooter New England Truck Series, and Thompson-legal Mini Stocks. Scheduled for Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12, the two-day event will provide teams practice on Friday with qualifying and feature events slated for Saturday.
