The New London-Waterford Speedbowl will host the first of three Town Nights Saturday.
The track’s Town Night special this week means anybody that lives in any town in the United States beginning with the letters A through H can purchase an adult grandstand ticket for $5.
Adults must show proper legal identification to qualify for the promotion. Children ages 12 and under are free.
This week’s schedule at Waterford includes features for the SK Modifieds, SK Light Modifieds, Late Models, Limited Sportsman and Mini Stocks.
Heat racing begins at 5:30 p.m. Saturday and features at 7 p.m.
Waterford Speedbowl officials will announced the dates for rounds two and three of Town Night in the near future.
I offered a very similar idea (using the first letter of the last name) to the former owner several years ago and he looked at me like I had three heads. Hopefully this bolsters attendance.

Love this promo, thanks to supporting us loyal fans that support the bowl almost weekly. Hopefully it will bring in some new fans. A slight suggestion, why not post it on the website? I went looking for last nights results and clicked on this weeks event and only found last weeks info at the link below:

Does anyone know where last nights results can be found? I looked on mylaps.com and only found the Bandolero and Legends listed. I have friends in the x-cars and would like to know how they did.

Thanks Shawn, I forgot about the Speednet link you gave me last week. I guess I was spoiled from the old Speedbowl website. It was nice to be able to see all the results and lap times in real time and on just website. Hopefully whoever is doing the website now gets up to speed in the near future and posts the results and lap times in a timely fashion so I can see what happened at the Bowl when I can’t make the events.
Shawn…thanks for all the info..just wondering..this article lists the legends racing tomorrow night but the schedule for the speedbowl does not list them. Any idea which is correct?

Good catch. Misprint on that. Legends are not racing tomorrow night at the Bowl.
This $5.00 ticket is a bad idea. Fans who just go now and then will now wait until their night and go on the discounted ticket. Attendance may increase but revenue will decrease. BTW, the speedbowlct.com site is junk,
Bob, have to agree with you on the new Speedbowl website not being up to snuff. I wouldn’t go as far a saying its junk but the lack of info such as driver rosters, points standings and up to date event info is definitely disappointing and surely cannot be helping bring new people into the grandstands.
Maybe the person/company that is doing the website is doing it for an apprenticeship/volunteer purpose only as it definitely appears that they don’t have a clue to what info should be included in a timely fashion for a racetracks website. I guess we were spoiled by the content of the old Speedbowl website. If I was Shawn M. I would seriously consider getting rid of whoever is doing the current Speedbowlct.com website and hire the person/firm that used to do the Speedbowls old website even if they were part of Terry’s old crew. I seriously doubt a website company could do any damage to the credibility of the new management team if they were previously involved with the old racetracks operations. IMO the current website may be causing more damage than benefit especially for those motorsports fans that do not have time or desire to reach out to the track via facebook to get answers to questions/info that should be readily available on the tracks website. Now that I said my two cents its time to get ready for the best $5 worth of entertainment I have been to in a long time.
