Penalty Announcements Coming Tuesday For A Pair Of New London-Waterford Speedbowl Teams

New London Waterford Speedbowl LogoOver the first two weeks of the season, the competition at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl has been keeping the new tech staff at the track on their toes.

In week one it was penalties for tech issues involving drivers finishing on the podium of both the SK Modified and SK Light Modified features.

This week it will be penalties for drivers finishing on the podium in the SK Modified and Mini Stock features from Saturday’s racing card.

Race director Scott Tapley confirmed Monday that penalties will be announced Tuesday for SK Modified driver Rob Janovic Jr. and Mini Stock driver Jordan Hadley.

Janovic, of Waterford, finished second to Tim Jordan in the 35-lap SK Modified feature Saturday. Hadley, of Waterford, was third in the 25-lap Mini Stock feature.

Sources close to the situation have confirmed that Janovic was found to be using a tire during Sunday’s feature that wasn’t part of his inventory as part of the track’s competition tire management plan.

Sources have said Hadley was found with an illegal exhaust manifold issue. Hadley is already listed as a disqualification from Saturday’s event on the track’s online results. It’s unclear if there will be further penalty beyond that for Hadley.

New London-Waterford Speedbowl general manager Shawn Monanan said that, going forward, the track will now announce any penalties from weekend events on the Tuesday after events.

The kid has talent . His grand father puts a ton of money so Jordan has a good car but he’s a cheater for last 2 year . I think he got DQ 6 or 7 times last year in his 10 wins in x cars . Got DQ’d at Wall . The kid needs to grow up . He has talent give the kid a legal car and let him show it and grow up . The Mini stock guys will not take his putting a bumper to them . They will dump him in a heart beat . So come on Jordan and Grand pa give the kid a fighting chance and quit pushing the grey areas !!!’n

  2. Seems to me that this kid Hadley has been caught cheating more than anyone in recent history at the speedbowl. How many more times before they just tell him to stay home?

  3. Oh my! Hadley still at his cheating ways
trying to win lol he bumps and puts anyone out to get to the front. He gets what he desetves!!!!

  4. I think whoever the source is needs to get there facts straight before they give information they are unsure of. As for the cheating, I think everyone should leave the kid alone. Everyone just assumes he’s cheating and doesn’t even find out what really happened. The kid got screwed last year, there was so much favoritism in the tech department and they did what ever they had to to disqualify him. The owner terry eames told the kid he needed to stop winning because it was bad for business but no one wants to hear that! Instead of supporting the kid and supporting his talent everyone is just jealous and assumes he cheats because they don’t want to accept he can wheel his car!

  5. Give the kid a break people! It’s his first race in a mini stock and he was the one to talk about! I don’t think the kid would intentionally do something wrong. He is a cool kid with a great family. They are not people that would intentionally cheat. Hadley should be proud that people are so jealous of his talent and he keeps getting publicity! Hadley, if you read this keep doing what your doing! You have lots of fans behind you!

  6. It was seven times last year and once the year before at the speedbowl.

  7. Frankie Tree says

It’s not him it’s his grand father he has deep pockets and l believe a Thomas helping him who really know a lot and could be a good influence if his pa pa would give the kid a chance !!

Stop you cheating ways old man .

  8. I think it’s funny how you people are negative about him yet you know all of his stats, and who cares? The kid can race! I don’t see anyone bashing the other teams that got DQ’d. I like to watch him race, good for him, I hope he keeps up the good job.

  9. Grey Matter says

Pretty sure I mentioned the cheating going on at the bowl last week so, this proves me correct.

  10. I was there last week and he came in 12th, how did he cheat then? And who cares how people spend their money? If his pa pa wants to spend it on him more power to him!

  11. Theotherguy says

Hey Frankie tree, I know the family and papa is not a cheater. This is a new division for the kid and give him a chance. No one is perfect and the website here has the wrong reason for disqualification. So keep hiding behind your leaves bully! Do you know that’s against the law? And didn’t your parents ever teach you to respect your elders? Sounds like jealousy here to me.

  12. Frankie Tree says

    Lol

  13. To all of you who think Jordan is bieng picked on each thing that Mr. Hadley was disqualified for last year another competitor was disqualified for except the drilled and slotted brake rotors he had on his car. That doesn’t sound like favoritism to me. And he did go all the way to Wall Stadium in New Jersey and get disqualified for running spring rubbers in his car which is not allowed by Wall Stadium rules. The members of the speed bowl tech department this year have not dealt with the Hadley’s yet the tech person who disqualified him all those times last year doesn’t even work for the track anymore. Sounds like someone just needs to read the rule books and give the kid a chance in a legal equal to the rest of the competition car to prove that he does have some talent, which he does.

  14. Hey thatguy…So if hadley was disqualified for the same things as other drivers why is there so much focus on him? and if some young kid came to my home track and blew the field away like he did at wall I would find whatever I could to disqualify because of embarrassment. You should have been there it was a great race.

  15. Jon I was there for Fridays race at Wall and Jordan drove a great race that night and I did see him a couple weeks later and told him so.I was not able to stay for Sunday had to come back for work. As to no fuss over the other competitors being dq’d it was several different people not one person being dq’d 7 times for blatant disregard for the rules. If the rule says you can’t do something or use a certain part you can’t it is black and white. Everything he was dqd for was obvious and a blatant disregard for the rules set forth for the division he was running in. The last thing he was dq’d for last year was refusing to come to tech after wining. He had no penalty weight in his car from his wins throught the season, which all the competitors were told previous to finale weekend had to be in the car. On track officials and the other competitors saw that the weight wasn’t in his car during post race interviews on the front stretch. As to you and all the other people commenting unless you were present for the tech inspections don’t run your mouth about stuff you have no first hand knowledge of. I do.

  16. So you must be one of the techs that had it out for him, thanks for letting everyone know who you are!!!

  17. Jon maybe you didn’t understand my last post. EVERY INFRACTION JORDAN WAS DQ’D FOR A DIFFERENT COMPETITOR WAS ALSO DQ’D FOR OVER THE COURSE OF THE SEASON. IF OTHER PEOPLE ARE DQ’D FOR SAME INFRACTIONS HOW IS THAT PICKING ON JORDAN ? A RULE IS A RULE NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE. As to the race at Wall rules say no spring rubbers, well he had them in his car. If you know anything about a race car you should know that they are a major adjustment tool to improve the handling of the car.YES I WAS AN INSPECTOR AT THE SPEEDBOWL AND I DONT CARE WHO OR WHAT YOU ARE IF YOU BREAK A RULE THERE WILL BE CONSIQUENCES .IF YOU ACTUALLY FOLLOWED THE WEDNESDAY DIVISIONS THE LAST TWO SEASONS YOU WOULD KNOW THAT THERE WAS QUITE A FEW PEOPLE DQ’D INCLUDING PREVIOUS CHAMPIONS, POINT LEADERS AT THE TIME AND SEVERAL COMPETITORS WHO DID A LOT FOR THE TRACK BEHIND THE SCENES. SO I WILL SAY IT AGAIN IF YOU DON’T KNOW ALL THE FACTS KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT YOU ONLY END UP PUTTING YOUR FOOT IN IT.

  18. “I was there last week and he came in 12th, how did he cheat then? And who cares how people spend their money? If his pa pa wants to spend it on him more power to him!”
Jason I’m sure that they didn’t tech him for coming in 12th place so how are we suppose to know if he was cheating or not? The car he ran this past week was not the same one he ran the week before. So it’s like, 8 dq’s all together at the bowl and one at another track. Seems like a lot to me. Not saying he isn’t talented and not saying that no one else cheats but if they are blatantly not following the rules it just make him and his team look bad.

  19. Shawn greatly appreciate your coverage of the sport. Keep up the good work. These comments are my first and last on any type of social media. The inability of people to accept plain hard facts I just don’t understand. A rule is s rule. If NASCAR said Sprint cup cars had to have pink wheels bet your you know what there would be a whole lot of pink rims waiting at the Goodyear trailer when it opened come race weekend.

  20. Chris D. says

Wow, all this cheating talk over a Mini Stock race…I mistakenly thought it was a learning division, this division must pay really well for all this cheating to take place.
