Ken Cassidy Jr. Wins New England Racing Fuel Support Performer Of The Week Award

For the first four weeks of the season the king of the Mini Stock division at the New London-Waterford Speebdowl had been shut out of victory lane.

Finally, in week five, Ken Cassidy Jr. broke through and got win number one of the 2015 season.

And with that win Saturday at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl came the spoils.

Cassidy, of Lisbon, can add some free fuel to the spoils of victory after winning the New England Racing Fuel Support Performer of the Week Award.

Cassidy garnered 102 of the 320 votes (31.9 percent) cast among the seven nominees this week in online voting for the award.

Matthew Swanson, winner of the SK Light Modified feature Friday at Stafford Motor Speeway was second in the voting with 80 votes (25 percent).

Chris Meyer, winner of the Limited Sportsman feature at Waterford Saturday, was third in this week’s poll with 51 votes (15.9 percent).

Each week during the 2015 racing season the New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Support Performer of the Week will be chosen from among drivers competing in events in one of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly support divisions (excludes SK Modified divisions) at Stafford Motor Speedway, Thompson Speedway and the Waterford Speedbowl.

Cassidy will receive a $20 certificate for race fuel from New England Racing Fuel.
