NASCAR XFINITY Series driver Charles Lewandoski has partnered with The Simon Foundation, Inc. in an effort to spread the word of the preservation and adoption of dogs and cats that would otherwise be abandoned, neglected, abused or euthanized.

Lewandoski, a Stafford Springs, Connecticut native who now resides in Mooresville, North Carolina, is the newest ambassador for The Simon Foundation, Inc. which operates a 36,000 square foot, state of the art, no kill animal rescue and adoption center in Bloomfield, Connecticut.

Through his racing efforts in the NASCAR XFINITY series in 2015 and beyond, Lewandoski will raise awareness through fundraising and other exposure streams to help The Simon Foundation, Inc. provide quality care and comfort in a safe environment for homeless cats and dogs until they can be placed into loving, forever homes.

“I’ve had dogs in my home my entire life and many of them have been rescues, so the need for every pet who needs a home to find one is a cause that is very near and dear to my heart,” said Lewandoski, a veteran of 37 career starts between the NASCAR XFINITY and Camping World Truck Series. “I recently had the opportunity to tour The Simon Foundation headquarters and I was beyond impressed with how friendly, clean and loving the facility and its staff were for these animals. I want each of them to find good homes, but until they do, I’m so thankful that there is a place for them at The Simon Foundation.”

The Simon Foundation Inc. is a facility that brings to life the vision of hope shared by Mark and Linda Greenberg. It features 3,000 square feet of training space for rehabilitating and training dogs, a home simulation room to expose pets to the home environment, full boarding, grooming and training facilities on site, 24 hour on-call veterinarian services available and more.

Also, forever home-owners can adopt pets from The Simon Foundation, Inc. location as the organization strives to place each of their animals into the home that offers the greatest likelihood of success and permanency. Their adoption policy is designed to ensure the well-being of their animals.

Lewandoski will use his on-track NASCAR efforts, personal appearances and other media opportunities to help raise awareness for the efforts of The Simon Foundation, Inc. The 30-year-old driver will be competing in NASCAR XFINITY Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events this season.

The Simon Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
