Waterford Notes: Keith Rocco Wins Late Models; Ken Cassidy Jr. Tops Mini Stocks

WATERFORD – Keith Rocco rolled easily to his seventh victory of the season in the 30-lap Late Model feature.

Rocco, of Wallingford, went by Anthony Flannery for the lead on lap 25 and led the rest of the way.

Flannery, of East Hampton, was second and Jason Palmer of Berlin third.

Flannery had checked out from the field before the caution flew with 14 laps remaining. On the restart, Rocco went by Derryk Anderson Jr. for second and four laps later he was all over Flannery’s bumper.

On lap 26 Rocco went to the outside of Flannery in turn one and took the lead out of turn four. Rocco cleared Flannery half a lap later and went unchallenged the rest of the way.

Allen Coates of Ledyard held off Al Stone III of Durham in a side-by-side battle over the last 10 laps to the checkered to win the 50-lap Limited Sportsman feature. Scott Sundeen of Douglas, Mass. was third.

Ken Cassidy Jr. of Lisbon won the 25-lap Mini Stock feature. Brad Caddick of Wyoming, R.I. was second and Dave Trudeau of Mansfield third.

Noah Korner of Canton got his first career victory in the 25-lap Legends feature.
