New London-Waterford Speedbowl Set To Honor Military At Final Weekly Event Of 2015 Saturday

New London Waterford Speedbowl LogoOfficials at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl will have some extra special events Saturday night in tribute to Military Night at the track.

Saturday’s event marks the final weekly event of the 2015 season at the shoreline oval.

All military members, current or retired, will be admitted to the track free with proper identification Saturday.

Track officials have planned extensive events throughough the evening at the track in tribute of Military Night.

Honor & Remember will be having a Gold Star presentation at the event. The Silver Dolphin Color Guar and The Patriot Guard Rider will present the nation’s colors.

The Racing School will also be awarding one lucky fan a racecar ride-along at the event with driver Steve Barrett.

Fans will also have the chance to win a hand-crafted American flag blanket along with an Honor & Remember American flag and a pair of $100 gift cards from a special raffle.

And on top of all the special events, a full racing card will feature championships decided in the SK Modified, SK Light Modified and Mini Stock divisions.

At the top of SK Modified division standings, five drivers are separated by 20 points going into the final regular event of the season. In the SK Light Modified division, reigning champion Corey Barry goes into the night holding a 2-point advantage over Paul Buzel.

Wayne Burroughs Jr. needs only to take the green flag in Saturday’s feature event to clinch his first Mini Stock championship at the track.
