WATERFORD – It seems Mother Nature wants to make sure the 2015 Connecticut short track racing season lasts as long as it possibly can.

Morning and early afternoon drizzle has plagued the Waterford area, putting day two of the Bemers Super Bowl at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl in a holding pattern.

But a clearing forecast seems to promise that today’s event at the shoreline oval will find its way to completion before the end of the day, just a little later than expected.

The original schedule at the track had feature racing set to begin at 1:30 p.m. following a one-hour practice for the Tri-Track Open Modified Series.

As of 2 p.m. crews were still working to dry the track in preparation for racing action.

Once the track is dry officials will still hold a one-hour practice for the Tri-Track Series.

Sunday’s schedule includes twin 35-lap Tri-Track Open Modified Series qualifying events, a 65-lap Tri-Track feature, a 75-lap SK Modified feature, a 20-lap Legends B-Main, a 35-lap Legends feature, a 25-lap SK Light Modified feature and a 30-lap Late Model feature.
