One of the crown jewels of northeastern pavement Modified racing will be the subject of a one-hour television special in 2016 presented by East West Marine and FireAde.
The Race of Champions 250 for the Ferris Mowers Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Series Fueled by Sunoco at Oswego (N.Y.) Speedway on Saturday, September 17 will be televised as a taped one-hour special this fall. The race will be showcased by the anthology television series “Suzuki presents SPEED SPORT on MAVTV.” An air date will be announced.
The Race of Champions 250 is the marquee event of the Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Series.
“This is a time-honored event and we’re already working with the Race of Champions to bring the sights and sounds of a world-class race into living rooms across the United States,” said SPEED SPORT’s Chris Dolack.
East West Marine of Long Island, N.Y., and FireAde of Fayetteville, Ga., signed on to present the one-hour telecast. East West Marine is a full service supplier to the marine construction industry. FireAde is a world leader in developing firefighting agents.
“When I found out there was a chance to become a sponsor of the Race of Champions 250 television coverage, I jumped at the opportunity,” said Brian Slaga, president and owner of East West Marine and is also associated with the development and distribution of FireAde. “We believe in the betterment of Modified racing and assisting in creating a great platform and value for Race of Champions sponsors at every level. This will be a great highlight for the entire modified racing community.”
Dolack expects television coverage the 66th annual Race of Champions 250 to be compelling.
“There is so much history at Oswego Speedway along with the 65 year history of the Race of Champions,” Dolack said. “This race is an intriguing marathon where strategy and horsepower play out before our viewers’ eyes. Televising this race enhances our programming. It’s the exact content we strive to bring viewers with Suzuki presents SPEED SPORT on MAVTV.”
