Joe Coss Named As Lead Announcer For Modified Touring Series Winchester 200

MTS Winchester 200 Wood Grain Draft 300Sprint Cup Series public address announcer Joe Coss has been named the voice of the inaugural running of the Winchester 200. The event is the biggest payout for modified racing this season: a $15,000 to win open modified event being held at Monadnock Speedway on Saturday, May 21.

“I’m looking forward to the opportunity to call the inaugural running the of the Winchester 200,” said Coss. “Monadnock is a track that showcases the talents of each competitor with its high banks and with this much money on the line, the competition will be fierce. There will be an unprecedented mix of competitors who run regularly on a number of touring series, combined with the local favorites making it a who’s who of modified racing.”

Coss started his announcing career in the heart of modified country at Stafford Speedway in Stafford Springs, CT and has gone on to announce modified races on their biggest stages from Daytona to Loudon. He still announces regularly at Stafford Speedway and Thompson Speedway.

In 2013, after a nationwide search, he earned the opportunity to announce the inaugural running of the Battle at the Beach at Daytona. He worked his first Sprint Cup Series event in July of that same year and has been announcing at the World Center of Racing ever since, including covering the Daytona 500 and the Rolex 24, the most prestigious sportscar race in North America. Coss has also announced at distinguished facilities such as Watkins Glen International, New Hampshire, and Homestead-Miami Speedway.

The Winchester 200 is slated for Saturday, May 21 at Monadnock Speedway.
