For the first time in seven years, Scott Payea visited an American-Canadian Tour victory lane.

American Canadian TourThe Milton, Vermont, driver led the final 34 laps Sunday afternoon at Lee USA Speedway to win the ACT New Hampshire Governor’s Cup 150. It marked Payea’s first victory since 2009 — the last season in which he competed full-time on the ACT Tour.

Three-time series champion Wayne Helliwell Jr. of Dover, New Hampshire, finished second, while Rhode Island’s Ray Parent was third. Alex Labbe of St-Albert, Quebec, and Quinny Welch of Lancaster, New Hampshire, completed the top five.

Payea is making his return to ACT competition this season, inheriting the seat vacated by the retiring Brian Hoar at RPM Motorsports. The Rick Paya-owned team has more than 40 career victories with the No. 37 Dodge Charger.

Payea won five races from 2007-2009 in his family-owned No. 89 and finished second in the final season standings in each of those three years.

In the season opener at OxfordPlains Speedway, Payea finished 19th.
