Stafford Notes: Alexandra Fearn Schools Competition In NAPA Spring Sizzler DARE Stock Feature

STAFFORD – While Alexandra Fearn has been busy with her studies as a freshman at Rensselaear Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y., her race team has been busy getting prepared for the 2016 season in the DARE Stock division at Stafford Motor Speedway.

Saturday that preparation helped Fearn school all the competition at the track.

Fearn, of East Longmdeadow, Mass., led every circuit to win the 15-lap DARE Stock feature Saturday, part of the NAPA Spring Sizzler weekend at Stafford Motor Speedway.

“We were pretty fast all day and I guess we made the right changes for the feature,” Fearn said. “I can’t thank my dad and [car owner] Amedeo [Francesca] enough. I’ve been at school all winter and the past week and they did an awesome job getting the car ready obviously. And it looks great.”

Dave Secore Jr. of Union was second and Trace Beyer of West Dover, Vt. third.

“This is definitely something I’ve wanted to pull off for a long time and I’m happy that I was able to do it,” Fearn said.

Albert Saunders of Stafford opened defense of his 2015 Limited Late Model championship at Stafford by winning the 20-lap feature for the division.

It was the second consecutive Spring Sizzler victory for Saunders.

“It feels good to win this race two years in a row,” Saunders said. “There’s no other better way to start the season than to win the Spring Sizzler.”

Bert Ouellette of Ellington won the 25-lap Mr. Rooter New England Truck Series event.
