THOMPSON – Three events into the 2016 season at Thompson Speedway and two words have defined the action in the SK Modified division this year: Keith Rocco.

Rocco rolled to his third victory of the season in the 30-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified feature Wednesday at Thompson Speedway.

Ryan Preece of Berlin was second and Stephen Kopcik of Newtown third.

Rocco moved to second place on lap six and then used a lap seven restart to move past John Studley for the lead and he would never relinquish the top spot from there.

Rocco was able to get away from Preece on lap 20 and lap 22 restarts.

“I knew he was going to be right there,” Rocco said. “Ryan is a smart kid. I think he saved a little bit when we got spread out there and he gave me everything he had on that last restart.”

I know that the Mike Sullivan owned Late Model team Keith drives for is taking a few weeks off at Thompson. Not sure on Jeff’s deal, but he did wreck pretty bad two weeks ago.

  4. They are far from being the best two ever…………………
