Whelen Modified Tour Teams Set For Test At New Hampshire Motor Speedway

NHMS Logo 2016For the teams of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, trips to New Hampshire Motor Speedway take on huge significance on the racing calendar.

It’s their Super Bowl, their Daytona 500, their Indianapolis 500. Run the list of grandiose clichés and it fits.

The Whelen Modified Tour will be in competition July 15 at NHMS with the running of the exhibition All-Star Shootout, followed by the running of the New England 100 for the division as part of the track’s Tripleheader Saturday on July 16.

And that means preparation is key, and that’s what will be taking place next Wednesday at the 1.058-mile oval.

Sixteen teams are scheduled to participate in a test session at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon on July 6.

New Hampshire Motor Speedway will have their grandstands open for the test from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Also, fans will be able to come in the infield near the pit out area in turn one to visit the track’s new Champions Club and watch the test. The garage area will be closed to fans.

  2. Frankie tree says

Humphrey, Dude don’t be a hater. She’s a important part of the series. I believe she most popular driver and a high draw for the kids. So get a life and stop being jealous and have some respect. There money is good and Colby’s. God Bless

  3. Brainfreeze says

Hey Humphrey, I dare you to make a positive comment. You’re 5 for 5 in the last 24 hours.

  4. humphry… she had her best race at Loudon… only 3 laps behind.

  5. Maybe the girl that led more then half the race in K&N at Stafford can give here a few lessons??

  6. It’s not about females most who race are very good, this one is not .She was black flagged at riverbed 4 laps in as the leaders were closing on her.Someone will eventually wreck and god forbid get hurt.I think nascar has tightened the leash on this riding around the track and not even trying to race.has nothing to do with hate.Modifieds are screaming past her and its only a matter of time.

  7. big daddy says

around a 1000.00 per car to rent track ,2 sets of tires 1200.00, travel .so around 2500.00 per car to test.

  8. Old man racer says

I agree that it is dangerous to have anybody going that much slower on the track. I think we all agree that she needs track time. But now you guys are going to bash her for going to an open practice?

  9. Brainfreeze sometime it is really hard to be positive when the truth hurts plus I forgot to take my BP meds yesterday so than did not help! A little Jeffrey humor here……………..

  10. Why all the crying now… Practice is exactly what she needs. Or to go down a division or two. The 01 is a danger at almost every track it goes to, anything that will help her go faster I’m sure we’ll be much appreciated from all the competitors alike.

And fyi her name on the list has already garnered all this attention.

  11. a name missing is max this kid is the real deal and one of the only teams without a spec motor.A great kid i hope the right person sees him

  12. You are right bill d this kid is doing a great job with what he has. I hope someone gives him a shot soon. Go get em Max!

  13. can people come watch practice or are the stands closed.
