SPARTA, Ky. –Ryan Preece turned in one of his best runs of the Xfinity Series season Friday, finishing 15th in the Alsco 300 at Kentucky Speedway.
The finish matched Preece’s top run of the season – a 15th at Talladega Superspeedway in the ninth race of the schedule.
And the race was Preece’s first at the 1.5-mile track.
“A great night overall for the team,” Preece said. “We had a great car and a great setup for the track, and I was able to adjust to it pretty quickly. This is a run I hope we can build on.”
Preece, driving the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller Chevrolet, gained a spot in the Xfinity driver standings to 18th.
Kyle Busch won the race, and Daniel Suarez kept the point lead.
New Hampshire Motor Speedway hosts the next Xfinity race July 16.
