STAFFORD – Paul Arute has made official that he will be making the jump to Stafford Motor Speedway’s Late Model division in 2017.

So the time is now to collect as many trophies as possible before walking away from his Limited Late Model.

Friday Arute was back at it, scoring victory in the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature at Stafford Motor Speedway.

It was the fourth victory in 12 starts this year for Arute, of Tolland.

“I know we’ve been on the podium four or five times and we come in and we’re disappointed because it’s not a win,” Arute said. “The car is great. The crew is just working their tails off just to get this thing good. We made a total wholesale adjustment from practice to qualifying and it worked. The car is just awesome.”

Duane Provost of Springfield, Mass. was second and Frank L’Etoile of Wethersfield third.

Arute went by L’Etoile for the lead into turn three on lap 14 and never trailed again.

Tom Fearn of East Longmeadow, Mass. got his sixth win in 12 starts in the 30-lap Late Model feature.

“We passed everybody tonight. I think we proved we’re here for a reason,” Fearn said.

Michael Wray of Northford was second and Wayne Coury Jr. of Shelton third.

Fearn went by Wray for the lead on lap 23.

Dan Dembek of Hampden, Mass. held off Johnny Walker over the closing laps to win the 25-lap Xtra Mart Xtra D DARE Stock feature.

Walker, of Ludlow, Mass., held on for second and Tyler Trott of East Hartford was third.
