Last year Rowan Pennink’s run to his first SK Modified championship at Stafford Motor Speedway came with some struggles over the closing weeks of the season.
This year Pennink is looking to close out in style with a second consecutive championship on the horizon.
Pennink, of Huntingdon Valley, Pa., scored his second victory in the last three weeks in Friday’s 40-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified feature at Stafford Motor Speedway.
It was the sixth victory of the season for Pennink.
Michael Gervais Jr. of Southbury was second and Keith Rocco of Wallingford third.
Pennink passed Gervais for the lead on lap 26 and never trailed again.
Heard from a few track guys that the top 2 were dq’d. Pen nick for exhaust shields that were way to big and brake calipers on the 15….wow
Onlooker,
Winner Rowan Pennink (99) cleared tech. My understanding is that some issues with the second place car of Michael Gervais Jr. (15) are being further researched at this point.
