Cory DiMatteo Wins New England Racing Fuel Support Performer Of The Week Award

A fast start to the 2017 season means a little more celebrating for Farmington SK Light Modified driver Cory DiMatteo.

DiMatteo is the winner this week of the first New England Racing Fuel Support Performer of the Week Award for the 2017 season.

DiMatteo won Friday’s SK Light Modified feature at Stafford Motor Speedway to earn his nomination for the award. DiMatteo also won the first SK Light Modified feature of the season at Stafford on April 29.

DiMatteo collected 859 of the 1,659 votes cast (52 percent). Zack Robinson of Putnam, who won Friday’s DARE Stock feature at Stafford, got 704 votes (42.6 percent).

Each week during the 2017 racing season the New England Racing Fuel RaceDayCT Support Performer of the Week will be chosen from among drivers competing in events in one of the weekly support divisions (excludes SK Modified divisions) at the state’s short track venues.

DiMatteo will receive a $20 certificate for race fuel from New England Racing Fuel.
