Patrick Dillion Carrying Momentum Into MSD Legends Series at Thompson

(Press Release from Thompson Speedway)

The Midstate Site Development (MSD) Legends Series is back in action this Sunday, June 11 as part of the first Summer Road Race Series event of the season. The MSD Legends Series drivers have already competed in two events this season: the Icebreaker, Road Race Style and a standalone event on May 7. Veteran driver, Patrick Dillon, who sits second in the point standings, is looking to carry his momentum into Round three & four of the championship.

Dillon, a Maine native, finished fourth in both events thus far, and is currently chasing Teddy Hodgdon in the point standings.

“Teddy Hodgdon and Steve Johnson are my biggest competition,” the driver of the 1934 Ford Coupe explained. “I haven’t been able to beat Teddy, and Steve is often a problem,”.

In order to stay competitive, and develop an advantage on these competitors, Dillon acknowledges that he needs more seat time. The technical turns of Thompson’s 1.7 mile circuit are something that the driver of the No. 45 is still working to master.

“My program is pretty laid back this year. Race hard and leave with a smile. Thompson Speedway has a beautiful facility, great staff, fair but aggressive competition and after a year and a half I still haven’t figured the track out.”

Dillon is a competitive entry on a strong roster of MSD Legends Series drivers expected for the Summer Road Race Series. Noah Korner, Jordan O’Brien, who will be looking to avenge his motor failure at the last event, Glenn Korner, and point leader Teddy Hodgdon are also expected to challenge for the race win. INEX Legends competitors will be participating in two points counting races, as they seek to contend for the INEX National Championships.

The MSD Legends Series will be joined by the Small and Big Bore run groups. The paddock gates open at 10am for Summer Road Race Series No. 1, with practice commencing at 12:15p. For more information, visit thompsonspeedway.com.
