Eric Goodale Leads First Whelen Mod NAPA Fall Final 150 Practice At Stafford

STAFFORD – Eric Goodale’s defense of his 2017 NAPA Fall Final 150 victory began in perfect fashion Saturday morning at Stafford Motor Speedway.

The Riverhead, N.Y. driver led the first of two practices Saturday in preparation for Sunday’s NAPA Fall Final 150 at Stafford.

Goodale won the event last year.

Goodale toured the historic Stafford Speedway half-mile with a fast lap of 18.414 seconds in the first 40-minute practice Saturday.

Chase Dowling, coming off his first career Whelen Modified Tour victory Saturday in the Musket 250 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway last week, was second fastest in the session. Dowling, of Roxbury, had a fast lap of 18.484 seconds.

Rob Summers of Manchester was third fastest during the practice at 18.520 seconds.

Justin Bonsignore of Holtsville, N.Y, who is looking to clinch his first series title Sunday, was fourth on the speed charts at 18.522 seconds. Matt Swanson of Acton, Mass. rounded out the top five during practice with a fast lap of 18.534 seconds.

Ron Silk, Timmy Solomito, Jon McKennedy, Bobby Santos III and Craig Lutz rounded out the top-10 in practice respectively.
