Sunoco World Series Notes: Jake Johnson Wins American-Canadian Tour Feature

THOMPSON – Jake Johnson got by Nick Sweet on a restart with four laps remaining and held on to win the 75-lap American-Canadian Tour feature Saturday at the Sunoco World Series of Speedway Racing at Thompson Speedway.

It was the first career American-Canadian Tour feature win for the 15-year old Johnson, from Rehoboth, Mass.

William Wall of Shrewsbury, Mass. was second and Sweet, of Barre, Vt. third.

Scott Payea of Colchester, Vt. used an eighth place finish to secure his second consecutive championship.

Brett Meservey of Brewester, Mass. won the 18-lap Pro Four Modified feature.

Rob Richardi of Taunton, Mass. was second and Randy Cabral of Plymouth, Mass. third.

John Zych of Mendon, Mass. won the 25-lap NEMA Midget feature.

Randy Cabral of Plymouth, Mass. was second and Ben Seitz of Monument Beach, Mass. third.

Desmond Skillings of Antrim, N.H. won the 20-lap North East Mini Stock Tour feature.

Cody LeBlanc of Waterville, Me. used a second place finish to capture the 2018 series championship. Jacob Rheaume of Rochester, N.H, was third.

    Scary crash for Porter in the street stock tour. Heard he was unconscious for a while. Last I heard he was still in the hospital recovering.

  2. I heard Jake johnson got disqualified for Chris infraction. Anyone got information as to what specifically was wrong. William wall got win. Nice to see the local guys run up front against the act tour. Great weekend of racing. Good car counts. Just a fun weekend. Thanks thompson.
