Pro-Tech 8 Gloves Joins Stafford’s SK Modified Weekly Bonus Program

(Press Release from Stafford Motor Speedway)

Stafford Speedway is proud to announce a new partnership with Pro-Tech 8 Gloves, a leading supplier of work gloves for fire departments throughout the United States.  Pro-Tech 8 will join Stafford’s contingency program posting a $100 bonus for the 3rd place finisher in the SK Modified® feature each week.  In addition to the weekly bonus, Pro-Tech 8 will outfit the Stafford Speedway Safety crew with gloves from their new line focused on the performance industry, including grassroots racing.

“Everyone at Pro-Tech 8 is looking forward to entering the racing market,” explained Richie Cooper of Pro-Tech 8 Gloves. “The product was launched in 2003 after seeing a need to bring 21st century technology to work gloves specifically for fireman.  I’ve worked as a career fireman for over 30 years and have been using Pro-Tech 8’s gloves for many years. We’re looking forward to bringing the same high quality work gloves used in the fire industry to the local short tracks.”

Pro-Tech 8 was born in 2003 after seeing a need to improve personal protective equipment and bring new technology to work gloves.  The Pro-Tech design and manufacturing team selected innovative materials to create a product that provides daily users the safety and confidence to perform their jobs at the highest level.

Richie Cooper, High Performance Specialist with ProTech8, is no stranger to short track racing working as a driver and crew member for over 30 years.

“I’ve been involved in racing for over 30 years as a crew member and driver,” continued Cooper.  “I worked with Tony Ferrante, Jr. for years before competing at Wall Stadium and occasionally in Stafford’s SK Modified® division.  Joining Stafford’s weekly contingency program is a perfect fit for what we are trying to do at Pro-Tech.  Stafford’s SK Modified® division is one of the toughest weekly divisions in the country.  Tough gloves and tough racing.”

The SK Modified® division at Stafford is shaping up to once again be one of the deepest fields in the Northeast if not the country.  25 teams have indicated they expect to run a full-time schedule with 44 total teams registered for the 2019 season.  Ronnie Williams is set to defend his 2018 track championship but will have plenty of challengers as the top-9 in 2018 championship points are all set to return with the same team.

“It’s significant when new businesses get involved with our weekly bonus program,” explained Stafford Speedway General Manager, Mark Arute.  “The Pro-Tech 8 product is first class and it will be great to get everyone on our track crew outfitted with the best gloves on the market.  We want to thank Pro-Tech 8 and all of our contingency partners for their continued support of Stafford Speedway and Short Track racing.”
