A new season arrived for the Tri-Track Open Modified Series Sunday at Claremont (N.H.) Speedway, but there was nothing new about who was celebrating when opening ended.

Longtime Tri-Track Open Modified Series runner Matt Hirschman kicked off the season with victory in the 100-lap event for the Tri-Track Open Modified Series at Claremont.

Hirschman, of Northampton, Pa., started 12thin the feature.

Les Hinckley III of Windsor Locks was second Ronnie Williams of Tolland third in the 26-car field.

More to come later.

  1. I heard that was a test session for PeeDee Motorsports. Getting the ole girl dialed in for the tour race at Seekonk. Looks like things went well.

All in all a pretty good race. Good racing Matt came from 12th to win. Les came from 14th to 2nd. Williams ran good, can’t remember where he started. 1st and 2nd had the field covered though. Silk got stupid and aggressive, and paid the price. Call the welder, LOL

  3. Well Silk had to pass the wiggle worm at some point. It just bit him. He was not very happy and will most likely not forget. Could be a tough summer for the kid that put him in the fence. Just my opinion.

I don’t think the kid purposely put him in the fence, I think it was a racing incident. He went to the rear of the field on an officials call, but he wasn’t happy after the race and went after an official. He better be careful or it will be another series he will get kicked out of, and Silk won’t get his chance, LOL
