STAFFORD – It’s become almost a signature calling card when it comes to the reputation of Justin Bonsignore.

Whelen Modified Tour contender for wins every week, perennial championship contender and the guy who has never won at Stafford Motor Speedway.

Thirty-six career series starts at Stafford since 2010, and no wins for the Holtsville, N.Y. driver.

And so the mission continues this weekend for Bonsignore to erase the winless at Stafford mark from his record.

Bonsignore began the mission in style Saturday morning at Stafford in preparation for Sunday’s NAPA Fall Final 150.

Bonsignore led the way in the first of two practices for the series Saturday.

The reigning series champion toured the half-mile oval with a fast lap of 18.591 seconds.

Current series points leader and five-time series champion Doug Coby of Milford was second fastest during the practice with a fast lap of 18.623 seconds.

Timmy Solomito of Islip, N.Y. was third fastest during the opening session at 18.627 seconds.

Chris Pasteryak of Libson (18.635 seconds) and Woody Pitkat of Stafford (18.657 seconds) rounded out the top-five in practice respectively.
