The Thompson Speedway oval will roar back to life with a reopening next week for local racers.
Econnmotorsports, the new promotional firm led by former track general manager Terry Eames, will host its first event at the track – an open practice for competitors – on July 8.
Econnmotorsports is now allowing competitors interested in participating in the July 8 event to purchase their admission online at the Econnmotorsports website.
Econnmotorsports is tentatively planning to run another open practice on Aug. 5.
The first event of the season, the Bud 150 featuring the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, is scheduled for Aug. 19. Econnmotorpsorts will also host the Sunoco World Series Oct. 9-11.
