Stafford Motor Speedway’s premier SK Modified® division will take part in the biggest race of the 2020 season, the NAPA Auto Parts SK 5k, this Saturday night, August 8th.  Below is a look at the 7th annual NAPA Auto Parts SK 5k by the numbers as well as a statistical look at the top-10 in the SK Modified® points standings and how they have fared in the extra distance classic.

NAPA SK 5k BY THE NUMBERS

1 – Keith Rocco is the only driver to record a top-5 finish in each of the first six editions of the NAPA SK 5k.

Top-10 in SK Modified® Points Standings NAPA SK 5k Race Stats

Keith Rocco – #88 Wheelers Auto Chevrolet – Rocco is the only driver to record top-5 finishes in each of the first 4 races this season, including back to back victories to kick off the year.  Rocco is also statistically the best driver in the NAPA SK 5k, having competed in all 6 previous editions of the race with 5 top-5 and 6 top-10 finishes for an average finish of 3.7, which includes 3 second place finishes.  Rocco is fourth on the NAPA SK SK career earnings list with $12,725.

Todd Owen – #81 Cooker Construction Chevrolet – Owen has recorded 3 top-5’s this season and narrowly missed making it 4 top-5’s with a 7th place finish last Friday night.  Owen has started all 6 previous NAPA SK 5k events and he has 1 top-5 and 4 top-10 finishes for an average finish of 11.5.  Owen is currently 9th on the NAPA SK SK career earnings list with $6,375.

Ronnie Williams – #50 Les’s Auto Center Ford – Outside of a 19th place finish in the second race of the year, Williams has been a front runner with a victory and three top-5 finishes in 2020.  Williams has competed in all 6 previous NAPA SK 5k events and he is thus far the only repeat winner of the event.  Williams has posted 2 consecutive wins in the race as part of his 4 top-5 and 5 top-5 finishes.  Williams is currently the NAPA SK SK career earnings leader with $22,585.

Michael Christopher, Jr. – #82 United Property Restoration Services Chevrolet – Christopher has posted 2 top-5 and 3 top-10 finishes this season.  Christopher has competed in 5 of the 6 previous NAPA SK 5k events with 2 top-5 and 3 top-10 finishes for an average of 12.6.  Christopher is currently 8th on NAPA SK SK career earnings leader with $6,835.

Mikey Flynn – #24 Ballyheigue Farm Chevrolet – Flynn is the leading 2020 SK Modified® Rookie of the Year contender with 3 top-10 finishes through the first 4 races.  Flynn will be making his NAPA SK 5k debut this Saturday and he has finished 2nd and 23rd in his two Dunleavy’s Modifiedz Night 40-lap SK Light starts.  

Cory DiMatteo – #6 Island Cove Yacht Sales Chevrolet – DiMatteo is the most recent SK Modified® feature winner, scoring his first career SK Modified® victory last Friday night.  DiMatteo has 1 win, 1 top-5 and 3 top-10 finishes this season and he will be making his 2nd NAPA SK 5k start.  In his debut last season, DiMatteo finished 14th and earned $700.

Michael Gervais, Jr. – #33 Gervais Brothers Roofing Chevrolet – Gervais has posted 1 top-5 and 3 top-10 finishes this season.  Gervais has competed in all 6 previous NAPA SK 5k races with 1 top-10 finish for an average of 15.2.  Gervais is currently 10th on NAPA SK SK career earnings leader with $5,155.

Tony Membrino, Jr. – #44 Mohawk Northeast Chevrolet – Membrino has recorded 2 top-10 finishes in the first 4 races this season.  Membrino has made 3 starts in the NAPA SK 5k with 1 top-10 finish and an average of 12.7.  Membrino is currently 21st on NAPA SK SK career earnings leader with $2,600.

David Arute – #75 Lincoln Technical Institute Chevrolet – Arute has recorded 2 top-10 finishes through the first 4 races of the 2020 season.  Arute has made 2 starts in the NAPA SK 5k with 1 top-10 finish and an average of 11.5.  Arute is currently 27th on NAPA SK SK career earnings leader with $2,000.

Teddy Hodgdon – #55 Montanari Fuel Chevrolet – The defending SK Light champion recorded his season best finish of second last Friday night and that finish is his only appearance in the top-5 and top-10 thus far in 2020.  Hodgdon will be making his NAPA SK 5k debut this Saturday and he has finished 4th and 2nd in his two Dunleavy’s Modifiedz Night 40-lap SK Light starts.
