STAFFORD – Alexandra Fearn went to the lead early and then checked out from the field to win the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature Friday at Stafford Speedway.

It was the second victory of the season for Fearn, of East Longmeadow, Mass.

“A win like this comes with a lot of really hard work on behalf of everybody, not just me,” Fearn said. “This is the result of a lot of hard work at the shop and a lot of dedication from a lot of people. Thank you everybody that helps me make this happen. This car was absolutely awesome today in practice, the heat race and the feature. We had amazing drive off [the corners]. It was absolutely unbelievable. … Just a lot of people who make this possible. I don’t think a lot of people understand just how many people it really takes. Thank you to everybody who helped me get here.”

Matt Clement of Wethersfield was a distant second place and Lucas Leone of Southington third.

Adam Gray got his fourth win of the year in the 30-lap Late Model feature.

“It’s awesome,” Gray said. “We thrashed in the shop every day this week. We found some stuff that was wrong. We found some other bad stuff. And it showed. The car was a rocket ship tonight.”

Wayne Coury Jr. of Shelton was second and Tom Fearn of East Longmeadow, Mass. third.

Zach Robinson got his fourth win of the 2020 season in the 20-lap Street Stock.

Jason Lafayette of Somers was second and Travis Hydar of Woodbury third.

  1. Congrats to Ms Alexandra Fearn and your crew for your win in the limited late model race
Congrats to Adam Gray and your crew for winning the late model race.
    Great job by all

  2. Any word on why Ryan Fearn was blackflagged. And any penalty for ignoring it for 4+ laps!!!

  3. just a guess says

This is only a guess but I believe the lap before the initial black flag was shown the 12 might have blasted into a car in order to gain a position. Nothing that much rougher than what normally can go on but I’m under the assumption the 12 is being watched much more closely these days.
Something to look for maybe when watching the video.

  4. Checked the tape.
Looks like it was around 10 to go.
Two cars side by side on the front stretch, one was Blake in the 61 the other couldn’t tell. Ryan Fearn behind them swoops really low on the front stretch making it three wide into turn 1. Fearn backs out but it’s too late as Blake goes up into the marbles. 5 to go Fearn gets the black flat that he ignored as was mentioned.
You didn’t have to take physics to realize that move had virtually no chance of succeeding being so tight to the inside on the front stretch going so fast into one. It was a ridiculous move with almost no chance of coming out well and the penalty completely deserved in my view.
Ryan just has a case of the Narducci’s. Bryan did some crazy stuff in the Lights because he had a crazy fast car he thought could do anything. His style is way more under control in the SK’s. Ryan has a crazy fast car at times, thinks he’s superman and this is what you get.
He should know better by now.

  5. Stafford tech says

Any word on the RR trailing arm travel biscuit the Leary car had in at the 50 lapper and why he wasn’t dq’d? It was clear as day and he was caught. Wondering why there is still no mention or Penalty?
