THOMPSON – For all the weirdness, subtraction and change that was the 2020 schedule for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, fittingly the series will end the season the way it traditionally has for years.
The originally planned 17-event schedule for the series was ravaged due to global pandemic restrictions.
The 2020 Whelen Modified Tour will come to an end Saturday with the running of the Sunoco World Series 150 at Thompson Speedway, the ninth event of the season.
Justin Bonsignore needs to finish 23rd or better on Sunday to clinch his second series title.
The event is part of the traditional three-day festival of racing of racing at Thompson, which this year features 19 divisions of racing from Friday to Sunday.
The Whelen Modified Tour hit the track Saturday afternoon for preparation for the season finale Sunday.
